At Kettering Medical Center/Wright State University in Ohio, she completed her post-graduate fellowship in Microsurgery and Plastic Surgery. She also was responsible for establishing the Microsurgery Research Laboratory there.

Opening private practice in 1988, Dr. Thomas focused her specialty on cosmetic and breast surgery. Dedicated to staying current with the latest cosmetic and anti-aging innovations, Dr Thomas regularly attends continuing education courses in the field of cosmetic surgery throughout the United States and has trained intensively in skin rejuvenation with experts in the field in Beverly Hills and San Diego, California.

Dr. Thomas is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Boards of Surgery and Plastic Surgery. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the prestigious American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. She is also a member of the American Medical Association, the Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati, the Society of Aesthetic Medicine and the Aestheticians International Association.
